We have video of the event now, Tucker Carlson lost his job over exposing the truth. The media lied when they said multiple people died.

People were being led around as if it was a tour, they were queuing at the gates and being let in by security. It was, to take a term CNN likes to use, mostly peaceful. We now also know that those that participated in the violence and riled people up to do (minor) damage, were FBI or CIA agents, we have pictures and videos of people that were standing around, directing the action and were mysteriously never pursued by the DOJ, people that appeared and suddenly disappeared from “wanted” lists.

Even so, it had nothing to do with Trump, hence why the lawsuits will fail, there is no evidence Trump told them to go in or coordinated with anyone to organize it.

I’m not sure the DNC is capable of putting anybody else out there. Polls have shown that the biggest candidate after Biden is Robert Kennedy. They could put up Joe Manchin, but he is likely going on a third party ticket. I don’t see another Obama being successful, same problem that another Clinton had, they were so polarizing (activist First Ladies) and their husbands were so bad while in office even their own base won’t come out for them.

Biden is embroiled in corruption problems worse than Watergate, remember nobody cared about Watergate until suddenly everyone cared. Right now, nobody in the mainstream has picked up on the Biden revelations of the last 2 weeks.

The facts are that currently Trump polls higher than Biden in a general election but based on the approval numbers, it is very possible that a third party picks up enough steam on both sides and runs away with the thing as well.

Best thing that can happen for Trump is more indictments that will spectacularly fail, he keeps his name in the news and he gets vindicated. I think it is unlikely the DOJ is going to drag these cases along in Biden’s favor, too many people from judges to prosecutors that want their name associated with a conviction which most legal experts say won’t succeed or the ones in areas that have Democrat juries will get overturned in appeal. And that is Biden’s primary problem, nobody in his political circles cares about Biden.

Best thing that can happen to Biden is that nobody talks about Biden and Hunter goes to jail, once the primaries are over he won’t be able to hide anymore.

Got my convention invitation

how things have changed, apparently they totally forgot i am an "evil apostate" two good looking ladies came to my door, my wife opened the door.. handed my wife the tract and said they are simply inviting people in the area, nothing further, not even a bible or other literature in their hand.. the invitation is small, like the size that a small 3-fold tract used to be.

i remember the last invitation was at least a proper sheet of paper.

and thin, you can see right through it.

How things have changed, apparently they totally forgot I am an "evil apostate" two good looking ladies came to my door, my wife opened the door.

Handed my wife the tract and said they are simply inviting people in the area, nothing further, not even a bible or other literature in their hand.

The invitation is small, like the size that a small 3-fold tract used to be. I remember the last invitation was at least a proper sheet of paper. And thin, you can see right through it. Didn't bother reading it, but we apparently only got invited to the weekend program, which is no longer in a big rented space (we used to have a 12,000 seat stadium that was at least 1/3 full).

It's now in the relatively small circuit assembly hall, which was so small, it could only seat about 2000 people, about 10-12 years ago they had to schedule 2 weekends just to fit the entire circuit. And the poor schlubs that have to drive 4 hours to go to a 'circuit sized' convention, the throngs of people going from and to hotels and parking lots, everyone 16-26 hunting for some available dating partner from a distant hall, all this 'excitement' seems to be gone now.

The charges are only there to distract from the continuous revelations from the Biden crime family. Every time there is a big revelation about direct corruption payments to Biden which is now his business partners testifying against Joe, the Biden DOJ scoops on another (weak) charge.

The question is whether the state can prove its case. So far all the evidence presented is very circumstantial if not outright legal practice. Remember, every President has private documents, Obama still has open disputes about classification for documents in his personal possession.

That being said, you will have an impeached President embroiled in legal hot water over corruption issues running against an ex-President embroiled in legal hot water over regulatory issues. Get your pop corn.

yeah, so i know nigel farage is a bit of an abrasive twat.. he no doubt holds views that other people disagree with.. but that doesn't mean his bank can just tell him to sod off and freeze his accounts.. such a thing might go on in commie china or authoritarian russia.

no doubt hitler closed lots of jewish people's accounts in nazi germany, too.. but the fact that it is happening here, in the yew-kay, is pretty chilling when you consider this country is supposed to champion freedoms, including the one to hold and express varying political views.. this seems to be part of a trend to delegitimise and cancel people who hold certain views.. i remember looking at a yt video of richard dawkins questioning muslim journalist mehdi hassan about his belief in flying horses and muhammad.

all fair analysis and criticism by dawkins until he suggested that hassan shouldn't be a journalist because of his beliefs.

I don’t have a problem with private banks doing whatever they want, however, when government pressure is born, they are no longer private but agents of the people (in the US) or the crown (in the UK) and must comply with those rules and regulations.

Due to the monarchy in the UK however I don’t see any legal or other recourse other than a revolution as the King or Prime Minister can just snap his fingers, suspend parliament and everything in the UK reverts to the political whims of the crown.

I think you are wrong, but even if you aren’t, gender of a child isn’t a coin flip, some males only give off one type of chromosome, which makes it entirely possible the only female was not his.

“All of his [Jacob’s] sons and daughters got up to comfort him . . .” (Genesis 37:35).

“His [Jacob’s] sons and grandsons, his daughters and his granddaughters—all of his descendants he brought with him to Egypt” (Genesis 46:7)

The verses both give multiples for both sons and daughters; they weren’t named though and given this is a mythical person unlikely we will ever find out any contemporary documents detailing anything.

new wt october 2023....first an article remembering 1923....they make changes, the had a "prayer, praise and testimony weekly meeting".. after an study article about obey, specially paragraph 18.. i have a wild guess, next year, just one weekly meeting for the borg..

@St George: Upkeep is a really expensive part of owning a building. Less upkeep such as heating/cooling/water/maintenance is more money that gets sent to the branch, less buildings, means more density, even if you lose a little bit of donations per congregation, doubling or tripling the number of congregations per building means a bigger revenue per building.

Then there is also the psychological effect of having a lot more traffic at a building vs having a few cars pull in and out at night makes the building look a lot more popular than it actually is. Becoming a mega-church every weekend will make some people ooh and aah.

I think they know they’re at rope’s end with expansion, now it’s just a matter of improving efficiency of what they have so they can stretch it as long as possible.

Well, they’ve always held the Sunday speaker to be the only ‘public’ meeting, the Watchtower study isn’t considered part of that ‘public’ meeting. Wouldn’t surprise me if they started adding a 15 minute break to allow “others” to leave and make the Watchtower study private and combine it with the “service meeting”.

Having an hour long Watchtower study on a simplistic topic question and read the answer has always been very boring and drawn out and simplifying the language last decade hasn’t helped.

A 30/15 break/30/15 minute meeting schedule would still be shorter than the 2+ hours we grew up with, then followed by an almost mandatory Saturday or Sunday “going out in service at least 60 minutes after the service meeting” isn’t outside the realm of possibilities - all your minimum responsibilities as a JW fall into a 4 hour slot every Saturday or Sunday morning/afternoon/evening which is on par with many other churches in the US (you typically don’t go out in service, but many do events/outreach/charity after church).

That schedule can cram up to 8 congregations per building with no heating costs every day of the week, forbid the elders from using the hall for their own damned meetings, as they already told them to pull back critical documents from the building and minimize the library, there is literally no reason except perhaps a CO visit or pioneer school to use the hall during the week.
